    Tokonatsu 2017 Shop now open!

Greetings all! By now, regular attendees will be familiar with the idea of Tokonatsu branded T-Shirts and Hoodies going on sell for the given year. Like most cons and festivals, it’s a pretty standard setup. What you might not be aware of this time is, The Tokonatsu shop is only producing T-Shirts and Hoodies on a per-order basis. That means you won’t be able to buy any at the festival this year ad-hoc, and you MUST place an order for them ahead of Tokonatsu 2017. They will produce the numbers as per the orders, and you can collect your merc at the campsite. That said…looking at the new designs, they…

The cheers of the crowd rise, as the referee counts down, the weight of your weapon heavy in your hands… Many of you will have fond memories of beating a dear friend round the head with a gladiatorial stick, or throwing them out of an arena with a strange mixture of glee and rage. Either Sumo or the Gladiatorial sticks have become a staple of the festival area at Tokonatsu, giving you a chance to settle old scores, or…

Sooooo if anyone has anything they would like to donate to the effort, we would greatly appreciate it. We plan to add to the display each year, and we think it would be a nice way for new comers to see what we’re about, and the history that our great festival has. Things we would be looking for (2005 – 2016) *Con Books (Physical or Scans)…

    Kuromukuro

It’s been awhile since I’ve sat down and watched a good mecha, so when Kuromukuro popped up on Netflix,  I thought why not? Produced by P.A. Works, the studio behind Another and Angel Beats! with Tensai Okamura, director Wolf’s Rain and Blue Exorcist, there is decent enough pedigree involved to inspire some hope going in. And the first episode start’s with such hope and promise, opening with mechs fighting in the snow in the Sengoku period, and dead samurai littering the ground. It makes you think, “What the crap is going on? I don’t care…this is cool!” The pacing takes a bit of a turn though as the title card…
